Akshaya Patra wins the Communicator Award!

The Akshaya Patra Foundation has been awarded the 20th Annual Communicator Award of Distinction for overall design in the print category by The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). This is one of the most competitive and biggest award programmes held to recognize creative excellence for communications professionals, as can be seen from the over 6000 entries received.

These entries came pouring in from all around the world, with big names in the industry like DHL, Bank of America, B. Braun Medical, GA Communication Group and United Healthcare participating.
The Silver Statuette for Distinction Winners is a huge feather in Akshaya Patra’s cap because the organisation won in the overall category and not just a particular segment like ‘not-for-profit’.

The award honors the best practices of communications professionals across different categories like advertising, corporate communications, public relations and work across print, video, interactive and audio. This year the competition can boast of having the most number of entries, while last year’s competition had industry leaders like Bloomberg, McMillan, Accenture and Benz Communications winning in the print category.

This award is indeed a huge testimony to The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s growth in the last fourteen years since it was founded. Akshaya Patra is a not for profit organisation that serves the mid-da meals to 1.39 million children across 10,631 government schools in India every day. The organisation aims to provide food for education, thereby ensuring that young children growing up have access to tasty, nutritious food and gain an education too.
